Embroidered fabric photographs, acrylic, framed (70 x 100 cm)
The series "Auf dem Weg" explores everyday spaces of movement under the conditions of chronic migraine. The starting point is photographic motifs from the artist's own environment, printed on fabric and then embroidered with red thread.
The embroidered lines mark concrete routes: to the pharmacy, to the supermarket, to a friend's house. They represent care, basic needs, and social closeness - and the various thresholds these routes represent in the daily life of a chronic illness.
The embroidery functions as a graphic gesture within the space of the body. Varying stitch densities, breaks, and knots allude to exhaustion, pauses, and uncertainty. The routes do not appear as clear connections, but rather as fragile traces that fade, thicken, or break off.
The textile support remains visible and restless: folds, fraying, and material tension are integral to the work. They emphasize that these routes are not abstract, but are experienced physically - inscribed in a material that embodies closeness, vulnerability, and everyday life.
Along the way, mobility is not addressed as a given, but as a daily negotiation between desire, necessity and limitation.
