MAKING THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE
Art · Health · Research
I develop artistic works and participatory formats at the intersection of art, health, and research.
The focus of my work is the question of how to make experiences visible for which language is often insufficient .
I work with sculpture, object art, drawing, mixed media, installation and participatory formats – always searching for a form that can make complex bodily experiences visible and tangible.
Art forms the starting point of my work. From it arise new questions, formats for communication, and currently an interdisciplinary research program on the role of art in destigmatizing migraine.
I am interested not only in how migraine can be depicted, but also in how art can change communication and promote social understanding.
Current works
Currently, I am working on various artistic and participatory projects at the intersection of art, health, and research.
-
Stimulus spaces – Interactive works as part of the future exhibition of the Waterkant Festival, including the digital game Migraine Management and the coloring and workbook Making Migraine Visible.
-
Making the invisible visible – a workshop series in cooperation with the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, in which patients and medical professionals jointly develop artistic forms of expression for experiences with migraine.
-
UKSH Health Forum Lübeck – On September 14, 2026, the first patient information day "Understanding Migraine" will take place at the UKSH Health Forum in CITTI Park Lübeck. I will be exhibiting individual prints from my series "Je ne sais pas" and speaking about the influence art can have on migraine.
-
Making Migraine Visible – “Making Migraine Visible” is an artistic-medical coloring and activity book for people with migraine. It combines creative design, reflection, and easily understandable medical information into a low-threshold tool for everyday life with chronic pain.
-
Researching with art – In my research I investigate how art can help make experiences visible, shareable and socially negotiable that are difficult to translate into language or scientific categories.
