SCIENCE
Good science communication pushes boundaries, intertwines perspectives, and makes the unexpected visible.
My passion lies in science communication and the question of how to present science and research in a way that resonates with people's everyday lives. Visualizations and experiential learning have always played a role in this. My current focus is on art and migraine in health communication: I use artistic formats and visualizations to make experiences of invisible pain visible and discussable – in clinics, with healthcare professionals, patients, and the general public.
In this context, two exciting questions arise for me that I would like to explore:
How can art enhance verbal communication between therapists and patients?
And to what extent does art contribute to destigmatizing migraines in society?

Qualifications
RESEARCH
I work empirically at the interfaces of brain, society, media – and increasingly with art and migraine.
Studies in sports science with a focus on neuropsychology and psychoregulation (including EEG studies, TMS, MRI, concentration measurements).
Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods in natural and social sciences.
PhD in Science and Technology Studies on science communication on YouTube (platform logics and visibility of expertise, mixed-methods approach with video analysis, interviews, platform observation).
Practice-oriented research on science communication in museums and new technologies (XR, co-creation, storytelling).

Illustrations and ZINEs
In addition to my migraine-related projects, I also visualize science and research processes themselves. In ZINEs (short for magazines, self-published publications), I accompany scientists and research teams as they reflect on their work – and translate complex topics into understandable, accessible image-text stories.
