Chron[olog]isch (Chronologically)
Textile reliefs, crochet, textured paste, canvas
The series Chron[olog]isch explores the experience of time under chronic illness. In crocheted bands fixed to canvas with textured paste, time is not depicted linearly, but rather as a physically tangible state of pressure, repetition, and exhaustion.
The works oscillate between order and loss of control: rhythmic patterns condense, falter, dissolve, or erupt from the surface. The textile structure evokes biological systems, knots, and traces of strain and adaptation.
The title alludes to the dual meaning of chronology and chronicity. Time appears here not as a neutral progression, but as something inscribed within the body, profoundly altering perception.
Chron[olog]isch is conceived as a visual translation of a condition in which days must be counted, hours weighed, and energy constantly renegotiated - between functioning and exhaustion.
